It opened in 2003, and was the first college in the city. Washera College offers certificates and diplomas in the regular and extension programs in the fields of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Law\">Law<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Information_technology\">Information Technology<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Accounting\">Accounting<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Secretary\">Secretarial Science<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college had also been offering training for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Elementary_school\">elementary school<\/a>\u00a0teachers until the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ministry_of_Education_(Ethiopia)\">Ministry of Education<\/a>\u00a0banned teaching programs in private institutions across the country in 2007. It is reported that more than 5,000 students have graduated.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Washera_College#cite_note-washera-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The college conducts teaching\/learning processes in its own premises located in the Abima suburb of Debre Marqos.
